MATERIAL- Sabaii Grass

This Towel Basket and Planter both are made of Sabaii grass. This grass is a perennial grass which grows in West Bengal & Orissa Mayurbhanj area primarily. Sabaii Grass dyed in Azo free dyes.

This plastic free organizer set can be used in Bathroom/Utility Room to organize towels, toiletries as well as be used as a bin, in Work Space to organize files, documents and place the bin under the workstation and in Kids room to organize the books, toys, diapers etc.

The craftswomen from about 180 households are working only in sabaii grass now, making their ends meet through this project. With our team, the women crafts-group undergo trainings learning various advanced skills as new groups emerge with more basic trainings and thus more self-employability. Sabaii Grass locally called Babuii grass is a very sturdy material and used to be used by the British Army in India for pulling their artillery, such is its strength.
